CE/EILA (21 EIL 1793)– 6 hours, This is a 6-hour Suicide Assessment, Treatment & Management course aimed at laying the foundation (laws and regulations, statistics and myths, and the process overall) of suicide risk. Goals: 1. Assess suicide risk, 2. Understand warning signs, 3. Learn the process of crisis and suicide counseling considerations. This course will include unique discussion of special populations (including youth, LGBTQA, gender, race and ethnicity, elderly, and the military population). The training is interactive, and participants are encouraged to share best practices and experiences on the topic. The course will include a PowerPoint presentation with videos. This training satisfies KRS 210.366. Trainer Bio: Dr. Tammy Hurst (PhD, LPCC-S, NBCC, LTC(R) @iLove Counseling & Consulting) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Kentucky and is Nationally Board Certified. She recently completed her research with the University of the Cumberlands on Combat Veterans' Lived Experiences with Treatment for Trauma. She is a Past President of the Kentucky Counseling Association, a Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Retired Lieutenant Colonel, Army. |
